Young Carers

Definition:

A young carer is someone aged 25 and under who cares for a friend or family member who, due to illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction, cannot cope without their support. Older young carers are also known as young adult carers and they may have different support needs to younger carers.

All of our young carers have access to our ELSA team with some having regular 1:1 sessions. We also have a club that runs for these pupils to come together to share their experiences and complete arts and crafts activties.

We also encourage all of our young carers to join Kingston Young Carers where they can access group clubs and access support.
